This super strong beer is stronger than whisky or brandy and compared to a standard pint of pub larger it’s 16 times more potent.
Armageddon is the strongest beer in the world with 65 per cent alcohol. It is brewed in Aberdeenshire and costs £80 in the shops and each 330ml bottle contains 22 units of alcohol.
Armageddon, which is made by Brewmeister, was not the first beer to aim to be the world’s strongest; three years ago BrewDog (another British company) created Tactical Nuclear Penguin which at the time was the world’s strongest beer at 32 per cent alcohol. Then a German brewer created Schorschbock, a 40 per cent beer and a war ensued which saw BrewDog create Sink the Bismarck, at 41 per cent. Then the German brewer came back with a 44 per cent brew which BrewDog retaliated with a 55 per cent alcohol beer called The End Of History, however only 12 bottles were ever produced, and the came in a stuffed squirrel and sold for £700. Another country decided that it wanted in with the strongest beer action and a Finnish brewer created a 60 per cent beer called Start the Future. BrewDog also created the world’s weakest beer called Nanny State.

So now Brewmeister have stepped up to the plate, previously they had made conventional beers, such as their tasty 4 per cent pale ale. However they decided to challenge themselves by creating the world’s strongest beer and knocking the competition out of the water.
Shand, the brewer of Armageddon said: “We didn’t want just to break the record but to make something that’s got some character to it, something beautifully sweet and malty.”
